#6. THE STRANGER (GOD OF WAR 2018)
God of War (2018) changed many things for the franchise, but it did not change the tradition of kicking things off with a jaw-dropping boss encounter (unless you count that first troll as the game’s first boss… let’s not do that). Known at the time as The Stranger, when Baldur shows up at Kratos and Atreus’ house, things quickly take a turn for the worse, and the brutal brawl against him escalates very quickly, in typically epic fashion. The fact that this boss fight makes more of an impact even than the final showdown against Baldur should tell you something about how good it is.
