SIE Santa Monica’s God of War for the PS4 will be releasing on April 20th 2018. This was confirmed in a new story trailer which you can check out below. It’s actually fairly compelling and teases a few of the questions that fans have been wondering till now – like what Kratos’ purpose is in the Norse realm.

Along with the realization that Kratos isn’t human, the trailer also points to his son inheriting the more troubling aspects of his powers. The slight tease of Kratos’ earlier life with the Blades of Chaos was also a nice touch. In terms of fantasy and scale, God of War looks incredible and we’re interested in how it ultimately plays out.

God of War won’t be a small adventure – the hack and slash epic is expected to take 25 to 35 hours for players to complete. The game is full of places to explore and things to see with director Cory Balrog wishing for fans to treat is as a “tour bus” of sorts.
