While the various graphics modes for God of War Ragnarok on PS5 have been briefly discussed, there’s a lot more in store. In a new tweet, the developer laid out the specifications of Favor Performance and Favor Quality modes. It also outlined the PS4’s graphical options.
In Favor Performance mode, the PS5 version runs at 1440-2160p resolution with 60 frames per second target. When the High Frame Rate option is enabled, it runs 1440p with an unlocked 60 FPS. Enabling Variable Refresh Rate on top of this also results in a 1440p resolution and unlocked 60 FPS. An HDMI 2.1 cable and a compatible device are required to enable this.
As for Favor Quality mode, the PS5 version runs at 2160p (native 4K, which requires a compatible screen) and targets 30 FPS. Enabling High Frame Rate results in an 1800-2160p resolution targeting 40 FPS. With Variable Refresh Rate on top of this, the mode offers 1800-2160p resolution and an unlocked 40 FPS.
On the standard PS4, the game runs at 1080p resolution and 30 frames per second. On PS4 Pro, Favor Performance mode delivers a 1080-1656p resolution and unlocked 30 FPS. Favor Quality provides a 1440-1656p resolution and 30 FPS target.
