Though it made a very short, blink-and-you-miss-it appearance during Gamescom Opening Night Live, Counterplay Games’ Godfall actually received some extensive new details during the show. Director Keith Lee spoke to IGN in a developer gameplay interview, which showcased new Valorplates, weapons and much more. Check it out below.
Lee also revealed some new details on the Valorplates. There are 12 Valorplates in total to collect, each with their own unique abilities and passives, and they each have a “constellation”. The latter can take different augments and depending on the colours matched, it’s possible to have a Valorplate behave differently.
This means that even if two players have the same augments, they can be arranged differently in a Valorplate’s constellation, resulting in different playstyles. Lee also spoke about gathering materials from treasure chests, custom game modes and so on to craft different Valorplates at one’s home base. Valorplates have different roles with some being more DPS-focused while others are about debuffing foes and tanking.
