For good reason though.

This is the week of financial reports and Take Two Interactive has announced that for its first fiscal quarter of 2015 (ending on June 30th 2014) it shipped 34 million units for Grand Theft Auto 5. This isn’t the number of units sold through though but we’re pretty sure the actual number of units sold would be fairly close.

Take Two also revealed its GAAP loss for the quarter, which is $35.4 million. This is down from its $61.9 million loss during the same quarter last year and is mostly attributed to the fact that the developer hasn’t had any big releases during this quarter. However, spending on games post-release came from Grand Theft Auto Online and NBA 2K14.

Other sales figures include Borderlands 2 selling more than 10 million units NBA 2K14 selling 7 million units and Civilization V at over 6 million units. The third quarter of FY 2015 should be slightly better since 2K Games has Civilization: Beyond Earth, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel and WWE 2K15 out in October 2014 with Grand Theft Auto V out for PC, Xbox One and PS4 out this Autumn. Stay tuned for more information.
