Rockstar Games has a new launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is still more than a month away. It starts out earnestly enough with Jason receiving a call from Lucia, presumably leading to him picking her up from Leonida Penitentiary once her sentence is up. Check it out below.
We also learn a little bit about Jason’s background. Having served in the Army, he “didn’t leave on the best of terms,” and as a result, doesn’t qualify for loans and such (adding “to people like me”). This would provide some more context on why he partakes in crime, though Lucia’s ambition may be on a far higher level. Of course, we already know they become embroiled in a criminal conspiracy when an “easy score” goes wrong.
That’s probably what Lucia refers to when asking if they’re going to be “okay” (leading to some reassurance from Jason). The rest of the trailer is intriguing because it contains snippets of the latter in tactical gear alongside two other individuals in the swamp, perhaps a flashback to his army days. Lucia is on a moving truck in another scene, jumping onto the wheel of a plane before it takes off.
And of course, there are plenty of high-speed chases, including one with a sports car (which should be useful for outrunning the police). All set to a brand new single, “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice featuring a killer line-up of vocalists such as SZA, Tame Impala and King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard.
Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
