Well, folks, we’re sure a lot of you joined us in watching what Grand Theft Auto 6 has in store for us, and a new report from IGN about the notion of four playable protagonists being considered at some point during development makes things all the more interesting.
We might have even been on board with the idea about an hour ago, but weŕe now kind of agreeing with what Rockstar has had to say on the subject after watching how Jason and Lucia operate, and how their adventure allows room for each of them to do their own thing while making them an absolute unit in a fight when they work together.
“After doing GTA 5, we talked about different ideas of – do we do more characters? How do we follow up three characters? Is it four characters now? But we worried about diluting the amount of player time with each and, therefore, player connection with those characters. So we decided to step in this direction of two characters in a relationship.”
It’s a direction we think is a great choice, although we can only imagine the absolute shenanigans that having four interesting people to play around with would encourage. Still, it’s looking like we’re getting to invest our time into a pair of characters who look like they know how to have fun even if things are going far too south for comfort.
That’s probably a good thing based on what we’ve seen of Leonida so far. Stay tuned for more details on GTA 6, especially with several hands-on previews recently going live.
