Hazelight Studios Teases New IP Reveal, Launching in “202?”

Published by EA Originals, it will be a brand-new "totally epic" co-op adventure which founder Josef Fares "can't wait" to show soon.

It Takes Two and A Way Out developer Hazelight Studios is seemingly teasing a reveal for its next game, a new IP. Like the developer’s other titles, it will be published by EA Originals in “202?” The post-it note has the words, “Final_final_3_Mdown_13”, a play on final cuts by video editors that could seemingly point to an upcoming trailer.

In a separate tweet, founder Josef Fares said he “can’t wait to show it soon” and that it’s called “S*** ******N.” And no, it doesn’t spell “Star Citizen” (the second word has an extra letter).

It’s not the first time Hazelight or Fares have teased their next release. In April, the studio said it had some “new (real good) stuff cooking” that it would discuss this year. Fares would later claim that the next title would be “even better than It Takes Two” and that people would be “blown away.” One thing is for sure: This new IP is another co-op adventure, as confirmed by Electronic Arts in another tweet.

An announcement in October or November, followed by a reveal in December at The Game Awards, wouldn’t be too farfetched (especially given Fares’ history with the latter). Stay tuned for updates.

In the meantime, It Takes Two was recently announced to have sold 20 million copies since launching in March 2021.
