HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 – Jeffrey Wright Will Reprise His Role as Isaac

Wright will play Isaac, leader of the Washington Liberation Front, in the HBO show's season season, just as he did in the game it's adapting.

Production on The Last of Us’ second season on HBO is underway, and new details on it continue to arrive at a steady clip. After recently showing off a first glimpse at Ella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal’s Ellie and Joel in season 2 with new images, HBO has now made another casting announcement for the show.

Award-winning actor Jeffrey Wright has joined The Last of Us Season 2’s cast, it has been officially confirmed. Wright – best known for his roles in Casino Royale, The Batman, Westworld, and more – was, of course, also in The Last of Us Part 2’s cast, playing the role of Isaac, the leader of the Washington Liberation Front.

He will be reprising his role in the HBO adaptation’s season season, become the second actor to play the same character on the show and in the games, following in the footsteps of Merle Dandridge, who played Marlene, leader of the Fireflies.

Wright joins several other actors who have been confirmed for The Last of Us’ second season so far, including Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Young Mazino as Jesse.

The Last of Us Season 2 is excepted to premiere sometime in the first half of 2025.
