Arrowhead Game Studios, the studio behind incredibly popular co-op shooter Helldivers 2, has revealed that it will be releasing updates for the PC and PS5 versions of the game that will fix some of its “most serious problems”. As caught by IGN, the studio announced its plans on its official Discord channel.

The studio has revealed that there are updates coming out this week that will aim to fix various problems with the game, which include matchmaking, login, and server load. The first of these updates is set for release soon.

“Hello there Helldivers,” wrote the studio on its Discord channel. “We have improvements rolling out this week focused on the most serious problems in the game: login, matchmaking, and server load. You will see one update for PC and PS5 tomorrow, though please keep in mind that no single update will solve all the issues. Rather, we will be making continuous improvements over the days and weeks to come.”

As mentioned above, Helldivers 2 has been incredibly successful, even more so than the studio itself anticipated. The game has since seen its concurrent players capped to 450,000 because of overcrowded servers. At last count, Helldivers 2 had crossed the 400,000 concurrent players milestone on Steam alone.

Alongside working on fixing issues plaguing the game, the studio has also stated that it is working on a new content roadmap. Helldivers 2 will also “probably” get cross-progression between the PC and PS5 versions “sometime in the future”, according to the studio.
