Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Forbidden West is getting a paid expansion on April 19th with Burning Shores, which retails for $19.99. Pre-orders are live on the PlayStation Store, granting the Blacktide Dye Outfit and Blacktide Sharpshot Bow as bonuses. Check them out below in the latest trailer.
Burning Shores sees Aloy venturing south of the Tenakth Clan lands, investigating a new threat that remains hidden. The environment is very chaotic due to volcanic eruptions and seismic activity, but there are new characters to meet, stories to experience, and much more. New Machines will also be available to hunt.
The expansion is accessed by completing the main quest in the PS5 version of the game (which it’s exclusive to). After this, Aloy will receive a call, thus beginning the new story. Though no gameplay has been showcased, Guerrilla Games is using the power of the PS5 to deliver “highly detailed” environments. One battle requires “a LOT of memory and power” which was possible thanks to the console.
