A big part of the experience in any new piece of Horizon content is getting to see new varieties of Machines, and Guerrilla will be delivering some of those with Horizon Forbidden West’s upcoming expansion, Burning Shores, as well. One of those new introductions has now been revealed.

Taking recently to Twitter, the developer revealed the Waterwing, a new Machine that players will get to both fight and take control of in the upcoming DLC. As its name implies, the Waterwing, which is a medium-sized machine, combines both flight and aquatic traversal, as a “flying machine that can dive deep underwater.”

The base game introduced both flying and underwater exploration, and it’s easy to imagine how combining the two will improve both aspects, especially the latter. Meanwhile, Guerrilla also says the Waterwing can be “an unrelenting foe” should you choose to provoke it, which should mean some pretty epic battles. Check it out in action below.

Recently, Guerrilla also talked about the new cloud technology that will be used in the expansion. Read more on that through here.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is due out on April 19 exclusively for the PS5.
