Guerrilla Game’s Horizon Forbidden West has been out for a few weeks now but it’s an absolutely massive game. Even after you’ve completed the main quest, there’s still tons of things to do, whether you’ve capturing Rebel Camps and Outposts or cleaning up remaining side quests. There are also a good number of collectibles to collect. Each of them has their own unique gameplay hook as well, making them fun to pursue.
There are 49 collectibles in total. Here are all of the different kinds:
- Vista Points – These are small pillars which provide holographic images of the Old World. You’ll have to look for the same location in the present day and line up the holographic image with it. There are nine Vista Points in total to find.
- Relic Ruins – You’ll encounter these ruins while traversing the open world. They consist of relatively small locations with various locked doors and puzzles to solve. Make sure you have all of the Special Tools in order to complete them. There are nine in total and they each provide an Ornament to collect.
- Signal Lenses – Signal Lenses are located atop Signal Towers. There are six in total and they require a fair bit of platforming to reach. Most Signal Towers are located in mountain ranges so getting to them is a journey in its own right. Signal Lenses can be given to Raynah who will provide resources and other items in return. Collect all of them to receive two Greenshine Silver and a Bronze Ingot.
- Black Boxes – These are flight records from the Old World, detailing various conflicts or incidents that took place when the Machines went rampant. Locating them involves pulsing surroundings with your Focus but you’ll always find them in the ruins of aircraft so keep an eye out. Collect all 12 Black Boxes and give them to Untalla in the Memorial Grove to receive “The Wings of the Ten”, a Legendary Blastsling.
- Survey Drones – Survey Drones are often floating around in specific areas of the map. They have a set number of spots that they scan and will go between in regular intervals. The key to collecting them is finding a high enough spot that the drone hovers towards, jumping on it and then dragging it all the way down. There are 10 Survey Drones in total to collect data from.
- War Totems – Only three of these small sculptures are present in the game. All you have to do is find and collect them. Though they don’t provide any gameplay rewards or Trophies (but still contribute to 100 percent completion), you do receive God of War Face Paint for them. Upon collecting all three, simply visit a Painter in any location to give Aloy a makeover befitting the legendary Spartan.
