Kicking off its Gamescom 2018 special, Microsoft’s Inside Xbox’s first major reveal was Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown, which is now coming to Xbox One. It will launch on Xbox Game Preview, though the developer didn’t announce exactly when it would become available.

Also available on Steam Early Access since February 2018, Hunt: Showdown sees a duo of players employing various weapons and tools to hunt monsters in the Louisana swamps. Smaller enemies are also around, but players must primarily garner clues on the boss before finally taking them down.

The twist is that upon killing a boss, the team in question will have a bounty placed on their heads. Other players can then hone in on their position to kill them. Even when other players aren’t hostile, they’re still competing with you to hunt the boss first. Upon dying, players’ experience will carry over into their Bloodline, thus earning them a form of permanent progression.

Hunt: Showdown has seen a number of updates since launching on Steam Early Access, so it should be interesting to see how the game plays on Xbox One. What are your thoughts on it thus far? Let us know in the comments.
