Sega Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi says the company has "decided to focus again on the strengths of each studio."
The project also reportedly suffered from lack of direction, an engine change, and "not committing" to anything adventurous.
The studio says it will try and minimize job losses and "work to re-allocate" affected employees to other available positions.
Sega Sammy also announced the cancellation of unannounced titles and the reduction of fixed expenses for Creative Assembly.
