Immortals of Aveum

Ascendant Studios and EA Originals have revealed the first trailer for Immortals of Aveum, an upcoming first-person magical shooter for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It’s out on July 20th, as the rumors claimed, and sees Jak, a powerful Magnus, joining the Order of the Immortals to defeat a powerful threat. Check it out below.

The single-player-focused title features over 25 Spells and 80 Talents. Jak can wield three colors of magic, each with unique properties. Red Magic focuses on concussive blasts, Green Magic offers rapid-fire projectiles, and Blue Magic is about precise, long-range hits. Players can also hover, twist the environment in various ways and summon shields for defense.

Of course, there are also “ultimate” spells for mass destruction and “hundreds” of magical gear pieces to discover and craft. Game director and Ascendant Studios CEO Bret Robbins said, “I’m incredibly excited to finally show the world Immortals of Aveum. It’s been a five-year journey for us at Ascendant, and I’m so proud of the team and their commitment to making something great.

“We set out to create a cinematic, thrilling shooter, set in a new fantasy world, with fast and fluid combat and an epic story. I can’t wait for everyone to play it.”

Immortals of Aveum also has a star-filled cast, with Darren Barnett playing Jak and Gina Torres as Grand Magnus Kirkan. Stay tuned for more details and gameplay en route to the title’s launch.
