With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine, Insomniac already has two massive upcoming games in development right now, but it seems the studio – which has already been one of Sony’s most prolific teams with its output in recent years – has yet another major project in the works that hasn’t yet been announced.
That’s as per a clip from a Full Sail University seminar that was held last year that was recently emerged and shared online (via @Dream_WaIker on Twitter), where Insomniac Games’ Erin Eberhardt confirmed that she is working as Project Director on an unannounced game at the studio. Though Eberhardt was unable to provide details on the project, she did mention that it was a AAA game.
It’s likely that the project being mentioned here is Insomniac’s unannounced multiplayer title, for which Insomniac has been on a recruitment drive since as far back as 2021. What the game could be is anyone’s best guess, though of course, Insomniac has had plenty of experience with developing multiplayer experiences over the years, from Resistance to Ratchet and Clank.
Some previous reports have indicated that Insomniac’s multiplayer project could be another Marvel game, though in some job ads, the studio has referred to it as a new IP.
