Considering the mammoth success of the Mass Effect series, it seems unlikely that it will be allowed to end just like that. Though Shepard's story has ended, there's no doubt that the series will continue in one way or another. Bioware have so much as confirmed this already, stating a fourth ME game will launch late 2014 to mid-2015. That's still some time away, but you know it will be worth the wait.
