Guerrilla Games took the stage at today’s PlayStation Event to officially announce their latest title, and provide a familiar name to the proceedings.

That’s right – A new Killzone game has been announced for the Playstation 4 called Killzone: Shadow Fall. Centered on the Helghast, the antagonists of the series, we now get to see them fighting off a new enemy to protect their homes.

Check out images for the game below.

GG also showcased a live gameplay demonstration for the title on-stage. Just like previous games, this is a first person shooter with plenty of emphasis on debris, explosions and particle effects. Character models are a little iffy but hot damn does the environment look good.

Colour us impressed, actually. Because if you’re going to feature a next-generation shooter like Killzone as a key marquee FPS, we’ll take the Helghast as protagonists any day. Stay tuned as we provide updates on other key titles.
