Legends of Runeterra

League of Legends developer Riot Games announced a number of new projects last year including competitive FPS Project A and fighting game Project L. Digital CCG Legends of Runeterra was also announced and made available in closed beta to select players. This month, the title will officially enter open beta on PC.

The beta will start on January 24th at 11 AM PST. Those who pre-register their account before January 20th can access it one day early. Along with accounts no longer being reset, Ranked Mode will also be introduced and follows LoL’s system of tiers. A friends list, new boards, the ability to challenge a friend and more will also become available.

Check out design director Andrew Yip and executive producer Jeff Jew discuss it in the video below. It may be some time before Legends of Runeterra officially launches worldwide for PC and mobiles but this will be a major milestone towards that goal. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
