Square Enix had a strong presence at this year’s Japan Expo, revealing a new trailer for Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and new videos for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. On top of that, FFXIII’s Lightning will make a cameo in the latter in a special mission, besides allowing players to use her outfit and different weapons from the game for their own characters.

After releasing the trailer for Lightning Returns, Square Enix also revealed that the game will be a Day 1 digital title on PSN for $59.99, which means you can pick it up online as well as at retail on the day of release. Why isn’t cheaper given the lack of trouble for distribution and disc production though? Questions that still bother us when Day 1 digital releases are mentioned.

Regardless, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is on track to launch on February 11th 2014 for North America and February 14th 2014 for Europe on PS3 and Xbox 360.
