Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name (2)

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio dropped several big announcements during its Fall 2023 showcase, from a release date for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth to the first extensive gameplay video. It was also confirmed to retail for $70 with pre-orders going live. However, tucked away at the very beginning was the reveal of the opening movie for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.

Snippets of the opening appear in the last gameplay showcase, but the full video sees Kiryu wandering the streets. He stops at a bar for a smoke, receives a call from an unknown number and ignores it before walking back out. The real highlight is the theme song, “Katatoki”, with rapper/singer J.I.D. collaborating with Radwimps lead vocalist Yojiro Noda.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name launches on November 9th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC. It fills the gaps in Kiryu’s story between Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. There’s also a free trial for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
