Along with Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Hexworks’ Lords of the Fallen (renamed yet again from The Lords of the Fallen) appeared during the State of Unreal presentation. It received a new technical showcase trailer, highlighting the power of Unreal Engine 5 when it comes to rendering Skyrest Bridge, one of the early locations. Check it out below.

The character creator also plays a role in customizing one’s avatar, down to clothing that dynamically alters based on size. High-resolution textures can also be seen on characters and clothes. The Chaos Physics engine also helps simulate physics for objects like hair, belts, chains and so on, with a not-so-subtle Bloodborne-style Hunter used as an example.

Lighting is also stunning, utilizing the new Lumen GI with real-time lighting. Environments react accordingly to moving light sources, which is stunning to behold.

The Lords of the Fallen launches this year for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Stay tuned for more details, and check out some gorgeous screenshots here.
