Earlier this year, Bethesda announced with a teaser that an Indiana Jones game was in development at Wolfenstein studio MachineGames. It wasn’t a particularly lengthy trailer, and really, the only thing it told us was that the game is in the works, and will release at some point. So when exactly can we expect to hear something about it?

Not any time soon, it would seem. Speaking recently with GameSpot (spotted by Pure Xbox), Bethesda’s SVP of global marketing and communications Pete Hines said that, as you’d expect based on that trailer, the Indiana Jones game is currently in the very early stages of production, suggesting that we won’t be hearing about it again for a while.

“Obviously, we literally just announced that deal, so you can make your own guesses about how far along that game is,” Hines said. “They’re in the very, very, very early stages of working on the Indiana Jones game.”

It’s been previously confirmed that Bethesda Game Studios’ Todd Howard will serve as an executive producer on the Indiana Jones title, though Bethesda has given assurances that that won’t interfere work on the game’s he directing, such as Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6. Read more on that through here.
