Update: The official extended gameplay video is now available. Check it out below.
Original Story:
Originally meant to air today at 8 AM PT, the 14 minute extended gameplay reveal of Mafia: Definitive Edition has leaked early. It sees Hangar 13 president and CCO Haden Blackman talking about the game’s development, changes and how the team is staying true to the original. There’s quite a bit that’s being updated from the original.
For instance, Blackman reveals that there’s a new lighting engine while also cutscenes are being recreated from the ground-up. New scenes have also been recorded and key story sequences expanded on (with characters like Tommy’s girlfriend Sarah receiving time on-screen). There are also more weapons befitting the Prohibition era and even motorcycles as vehicles for players to mess about with.
Mafia: Definitive Edition is out on September 25th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It will retail for $39.99 standalone but is also included with the Mafia: Trilogy, which costs $59.99. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
