Almost every team in Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been represented in recent Character Guide videos, and now, it’s the Samurai Outriders’ time. Ghost Rider is in the spotlight, and while Robbie Reyes may be unfamiliar to most, he still packs plenty of firepower.
This is thanks to his Vengeance Gauge, which builds up as you execute skills. Once it enters the Red Zone, they deal more damage, even more so than the Heavy version of the same skills. There is a downside, though – if the Gauge is maxed out, Reyes is stunned and can’t move or use skills until it returns to the starting Zone.
To temper this, you can use Revelator Chain (which attacks multiple times when held), Hell Throttle (dealing damage around him), his Super Skill, switch team members, or cast an Ultimate Skill. Or you can go for broke with Hell Ride, which reduces the Gauge when it lands and increases it on missing.
And if you’re wondering where the iconic Penance Stare is, it appears during Reyes’ Tōkon Assemble, when the Ghost Rider takes over and wreaks havoc on an enemy.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is out on August 6th for PS5 and PC, but you can try out the open beta – and Ghost Rider – on July 24th to 26th. With 14 other playable characters, a look at Episode Mode (specifically the Amazing Guardians’ story), and more, it’s one of the most comprehensive fighting game betas ever.
