Since its delay from its original May launch into September, we haven’t heard a lot about Marvel’s Avengersbut the developers have been interacting with the community on a pretty regular basis regardless. Recently, answering questions on Reddit, lead combat designer on the game, Vince Napoli, dropped some interesting little details about the game.

We’ve heard plenty about the gear and loot systems that are going to be in place in Marvel’s Avengers, and how that, in conjunction with progression and things like perks, will hopefully allow for a lot of build variety. Over on Reddit, Napoli mentioned that most of the perks that the developers have shown so far were “early tests,” and after plenty of work having been done on that system, there are now over 100 perks in the game for gear alone.

“Most of those perks were early tests,” Napoli wrote. “A lot of work has been done to overhaul that system, but there are easily 100+ unique perks for gear alone. Perks are also exclusive to the slot item and perk slot on the items themselves.”

Marvel’s Avengers is due out for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on September 4, but those who order the Earth’s Mightiest Edition will get the game 3 days early.
