When you’re playing as Spider-Man, you don’t really expect to be worrying about fall damage, but if you do want to add that wrinkle to the excellent traversal mechanics of the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, interestingly enough, you will actually have the option to turn that on.

In the wake of the recent wave of new details and gameplay footage on the upcoming open world title, as spotted by YouTuber Blitzwinger, in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players will have the option to enable fall damage. Of course, as players will remember, fall damage wasn’t really a thing in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, so this is an interesting first for the series.

Recently, it was also revealed that in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, while you’re swinging about the open world and trying to stop crimes, you might run into the other Spider-Man, who’ll join you and help you deal with the criminals before going about his business again.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to launch on October 20 for PS5. Developer Insomniac Games recently confirmed that the game has gone gold.
