Sony’s expansion into the PC space continues, and last week, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered became the next big PlayStation title to make the jump to the platform. Given the game’s reputation and how successful it was on the PS4, it was obviously expected to make a big splash on PC as well, and sure enough, it seems to have gotten off to a solid start.
Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered enjoyed the second biggest Steam launch to date for a PlayStation game. As noted over on Twitter by @BenjiSales, the game enjoyed a concurrent users peak on Steam of nearly 65,000. That falls short of what God of War enjoyed when it launched for PC earlier this year (over 73,000 players), but the open world superhero title does exceed Horizon Zero Dawn’s numbers (over 56,000 players).
Later this year, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is also launching for PC, while of course, Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is still due to receive its PC release as well.
In our review of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC, we awarded it a score of 9/10, calling it “quite easily the definitive version of the game.” You can read our full review through here.
So far looks like Spider-Man Remastered will be the 2nd Biggest Launch for PlayStation Studios on Steam / PC. God of War may get to keep the crown
