The Phantom Pain may not have had the heavy narrative touch that the rest of the Metal Gear games do, but the game really did have a few moments that truly stand out. One such moment was when a large number of Diamond Dogs’ soldiers get infected with the vocal cord parasites, leaving Venom Snake no option but to go in and take them out himself. The fact that that’s not shown through a cutscenes, that you yourself have to kill these soldiers that you’d recruited and commanded makes it a really heart wrenching sequence.
