Konami announced a few months ago that both Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain would be releasing for PC via Steam sometime in the near future. Though The Phantom Pain isn’t out yet for consoles – and won’t be until 2015 – one could assume that Ground Zeroes would be out next year as well.
However, as reported by several Russian sites (via NeoGAF), Hideo Kojima apparently announced at Russian game convention IGROMIR 2014 that Ground Zeroes would be releasing for PC on December 18th this year. Given the size of the PC gaming community in Russia, it’s certainly plausible that the announcement is real. As of now though, Konami didn’t offer any comment on the same when contacted by Videogamer.
Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes released in March 2014 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PS3, serving as the prologue to the full-sized epilogue that was The Phantom Pain. It was praised for its open world mechanics but criticized for the relative length. How will the PC release improve on it? We’ll find out this December hopefully.
