Huey Wanted to Use Hal as Test Pilot for Metal Gear
In Ground Zeroes, Huey Emmerich allowed the nuclear inspection for Mother Base to pass, claiming that he was unaware it would lead to an attack. Of course, it didn’t help that he also had a hand in the parasite outbreak which prompted Snake to shoot his own men (with Huey blaming Snake for the killing, no less). But then there was the fact that he created Metal Gear Sahelanthropus for Skull Face. Were there no depths that Huey couldn’t sink to?
As it turns out, there were. Metal Gear Sahelanthropus could only be piloted by a child. At that point, Huey tried to have his own son Hal aka Otacon from Metal Gear Solid 1, 2 and 4 as a test pilot. Say what you will about Huey’s actions but how does one justify using their own child for the sake of their experiments? Then again, considering his other actions, it was obvious that Huey was only looking out for himself and his research.
