The multiplayer mode for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater – dubbed Fox Hunt – is out now as part of a free update across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. To commemorate the launch of the game mode, Konami has released a new trailer showing off how it works. Check it out below.

The trailer for Fox Hunt acts as a mission briefing that gives players some ideas about how the game mode will work. Along with a narration, the trailer also features plenty of gameplay that ranges from the ways players can sneak around each other, the gadgets they can use to distract each other, and the weapons that they can then use to take each other out.

Fox Hunt is a game mode that pits six teams of two players against each other, for a total of up to 12 players. Players will be able to pick from a variety of characters from across Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, including both protagonists and antagonists. The core gameplay in the multiplayer mode will revolve around the fundamentals of stealth mechanics that are used throughout the single-player campaign of Snake Eater.

One of the major features of Fox Hunt is how it handles camouflage. Players will get to blend in with the environment to potentially fool their opponents. This can help them guard important objectives, and even sneak up behind enemies for a stealthy takedown. The system is dubbed All-Terrain Camouflage, or AT-CAMO, and players will have to pick out the set of camouflage they want to use in a match right at the beginning.

In order to help players find each other, Fox Hunt also features a system dubbed Naked Sense, which can be activated to detect nearby supplies and opponents. However, activating it also starts draining your stamina, which can in turn have adverse effects, like lowering your accuracy while aiming.

As for the tools that players can use to take each other on, Fox Hunt relies on on-site procurement. This means that each player will have to explore the map in order to find weapons, supplies and gadgets that they can then use over the course of a match. Getting taken out by an opponent also means that you will end up dropping everything you had collected so far.

At launch, Fox Hunt has three different maps, with one of them being the jungle. Across these three maps are two distinct mission rules that are selected at random for every match. Teams are eliminated from a mission if they fail to accomplish the various objectives that each mission rule tasks them with.

It is worth noting that Fox Hunt does not feature cross-platform multiplayer for PC or consoles. There are also no in-game purchases, and players that would prefer to play with friends can also do so through private matches.
