Metro Exodus has been in the news a lot lately, thanks to the announcement that it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC, which has been met with no shortage of backlash. And while that’s all very pertinent news, we shouldn’t forget that there is still a game to talk about here- which is looking increasingly amazing with each new showing. Weapons customization seems to be a major part of the game this time around, and has been shown off in previous recent trailers, and now, developers 4A Games have put out another trailer that takes yet another deep dive into the mechanic.

The trailer starts off by showing you a good old-fashioned revolver, talking about its properties and strengths and weaknesses, but then takes a turn and starts showing off how heavily you can modify it to turn it into a completely different weapon. Basically, by changing things such as its stock, scope, barrel, and more, you can turn a revolver into a mid-range sniper rifle, close-range machine gun, or whatever else suits your fancy, depending on what parts you have at your disposal for customization.

It’s looking like a great, extensive system that should hopefully add some level of nuance and strategy to the gameplay, and the fact that this is all going to be doable on the fly within the game is even more exciting. Take a look below to see for yourselves.

Metro Exodus launches on February 15 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you want to see or learn more about the game, take a look at this recently released harrowing story trailer, or go behind the scenes of the game’s development with this developer diary.
