Despite some backlash towards the all-new PlayStation Plus, some aspects like time-limited trials are considered a good addition to the service. In response, it seems Microsoft is planning to announce a game demo initiative as per insider Tom Henderson on Exputer.

Available within the next year for Xbox Game Pass members, the initiative will apparently focus first on “helping independent game developers” worldwide. Those who participate will receive “necessary data” for game development along with reportedly being compensated (though exact details have yet to be revealed). Microsoft is also reportedly extending its partnership with Samsung and will allow for Xbox game streaming to Samsung Smart TVs without needing Xbox hardware.

Cloud gaming is also apparently slated to expand to other countries. Henderson notes that several of these announcements are coming before the Summer Game Fest showcase tomorrow (which will run for 90 to 120 minutes and focus primarily on previously-announced games). Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
