After teasing it earlier this year, Capcom finally announced the next mainline Monster Hunter title – Monster Hunter Wilds. It launches in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC, with more details in Summer 2024. In the meantime, series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has a new interview video. Check it out below.

Though he doesn’t offer many new details, Tsujimoto confirmed that the sequel features a “new level of detailed creatures and ecosystems.” He also said the development team is working hard “using the power of PlayStation 5 to the fullest” to bring the “best Monster Hunter experience yet.” Capcom is likely exploiting Xbox Series X/S and PC in the same way, though PlayStation-exclusive features wouldn’t be new (see the Horizon Zero Dawn outfit and weapon in Monster Hunter World).

It’s a long wait for new details, so stay tuned. In the meantime, the latest title in the series, Monster Hunter Rise, is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5 after launching previously for Nintendo Switch and PC. Check out our review of the base game and its expansion, Sunbreak. The latter received its final update this past June, which adds Primordial Malzeno as a new monster.
