Several months after console users have farmed it mercilessly, Elder Dragon Kulve Taroth will be coming to Monster Hunter World users on PC. Capcom has announced that the Siege quest will be available on November 2nd at 12 AM UTC. It will come to a close on November 15th at 11:59 PM UTC. The Elder Dragon will be preceded by a title update on October 30th, but more details on that will be coming later.

As for the Kulve Taroth update, it will add HDR Mode to the Display Settings and keyboard setting adjustments (including the option to use any number key from 1 to 8 for a shortcut). Bugs, including certain textures in cutscenes and character creation not being optimized, will also be fixed. For the quest itself, the objective will be to meet in the Gathering Hub, band together with other players to gather tracks and corner her, and eventually break off her horns.

The Siege can support up to four teams of four players, and progress is shared across the instance. Successfully completing the Siege will award Appraisal Weapons and Bushi Tickets, but breaking Kulve’s horns offers a chance for super-rare Melded Weapons. It’s also possible to craft two new armour sets as well. Check out the full update notes and an introductory video below.

Major New Content:

  • For the first time on Steam, the Kulve Taroth Siege will be available for a limited period from Friday, November 2 at 00:00 a.m. (UTC) until Thursday, November 15 at 23:59 (UTC).
  • Cooperate with all other hunters in your Online Session to destroy the horns of Kulve Taroth, an elder dragon clad in a gold mantle. “Appraisal weapons” will be rewarded for completing the siege, and you can acquire new materials to forge and upgrade equipment, as well as the “Bushi Ticket” for your Palico equipment.
  • Note: The siege can only be accessed after progressing to a certain point in the story. The siege will be available at different times in the future.
  • “Character Edit Voucher” will be available on the Store, allowing hunters to edit their gender and appearance.

Additions and Changes:

  • “HDR Mode” added in the Display Settings.
  • Various keyboard setting adjustments, including different key assignments.
  • A new shortcut key option which allows players to use keyboard shortcuts (any number key from 1 to 8).

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where certain textures in cutscenes or character creation were not optimized.
  • Fixed other minor issues.
