Microsoft and Sony

With new generation consoles around the corner, it means a new generation of fanboy wars is approaching as well. The hate, the rage, and the furious typing of keyboards to bash one company over the other. We got early tastes of the upcoming online wars with a rumor that’s been floating around that the PS5 will, in fact, be more powerful than the next Xbox, currently dubbed Project Scarlett. One man who wants to put a beating to those rumors is Mortal Kombat creator and longtime producer, Ed Boon.

In a tweet from his official account, Boom bashes those rumors, asking a simple question: how could anyone really know that when no one has worked on a final version of either piece of hardware?

While it’s true that devkits are out there, and probably have been for a while, Boon has a point. We probably won’t know what the actual final hardware will look like until probably the machines hit store shelves. We’ll just have to wait and see, but, of course, that won’t stop the embers of console wars from smoldering in the anticipation.
