We knew this one was coming, but it’s still quite exciting to see the new look at Konami’s Rev. Noir, an upcoming hack-and-slash title that might just mark the beginning of an exciting new story.
There’s an amnesiac protagonist who’s working alongside a mysterious girl with special abilities to address something called the Lightfall, which has proven deadly to their world and is currently a mysterious threat. Of course, they’re not going to have to take the journey alone, and they’re going to be meeting some great friends and allies along the way, each of whom looks like they’re somebody you’d want at your side in a fight.
The enemies you’re going to take on are no slouches, though, with some deliciously grotesque designs joining some seriously nimble human bosses, all of whom seem intent on stopping your advance. Equally compelling is the combat system that looks like an interesting blend of JRPG mechanics and real-time combat, along with some stylish menus thrown in.
All in all, this one’s got all the ingredients of a jolly good time, and we’re now more curious than ever to know morea bout when we get to play it, other than that vague 2027 window.
