Following the recent trailer for Rev. Noir, Konami has revealed more details about the upcoming title during its Press Start showcase. Producer Nobuki Kadoi took to the stage to discuss the upcoming title, providing some more details in the process. Check it out below.

Rev. Noir is an action RPG that takes place in a world where people live their lives according to their Astral Ordinances – lifelong missions that were given to them by a massive creature, known as the Determinant, floating in the sky. Most people throughout the world accept these missions without any questions, and this led to there being peace for a long time. However, the peace is shattered when a catastrophe known as Lightfall, which kills anyone it touches, happens again, and most people’s lives are upended in the process.

Players take on the role of protagonist Asch, who teams up with Finé and a host of other companions to set off on a journey of Cessation to try and stop the Lightfall. The quest will have players coming across a variety of characters – friends and foes – and experience Asch’s own growth while he tries to discover what he should believe in going forward.

Finé also has her own story as the daughter of the hierarch of the Matriarchy – an identity that comes with its own set of responsibilities. The character has been described as having a cheerful and curious personality tempered by an inner strength that allows her to face her mission.

Rev. Noir is set to feature “stunning battle sequences”, giving players more options when it comes to taking on the game’s various combat challenges. New abilities can be unlocked, giving players access to support actions called Astral Sigils and Kardieoses.

The title is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and is slated for release in 2027.
