Before looking towards the future, Microsoft decided to honour the past. And that involved the Xbox 360, which will be receiving a new design which will be available today.

Billed as having a modern look and feel reminiscent of the Xbox One design, not to mention being smaller, sexier and quieter than before, the new Xbox 360 was official announced by Yusuf Mehdi, who then announced that Xbox Live members will be subject to a new program where they will be receiving free game downloads from July 1st. This includes games like Halo 3 and Assassin’s Creed 2.

So two free downloads of big name titles. Just because.

This follows up on initial rumours that Microsoft wanted to keep interest in the Xbox 360 alive by announcing a new model at their press conference. Of course, the free game downloads is something unexpected. But if you’re going to bribe gamers, why not use games? The logic boggles us, we know. Stay tuned for more.
