NieR Reincarnation

The wait is on for the next installment in the NieR franchise, which is a return to the first game in the series with a remaster of NeiR Replicant that may not be all that it seems. But it’s not the only game upcoming in the strange sci-fi franchise, as a new mobile entry is still slated to come soon in Nier Re[in]carnation, and today we got a trailer that showed us a little more, including a taste of actual combat.

So far we’ve only seen gameplay of the mobile title with a character running in temples. The artwork and style is quite stunning, but there wasn’t much else to go on. Well, a new Japanese trailer has dropped, and it shows…well, it shows a lot more running, but you also get brief glimpses at some combat sequences. They are a bit too short to really parse anything, but it seems to be a turned-based affair here. So, you’ll be doing a bit more than running around temples, it seems.

NeiR Re[in]carnation has no release date as of yet, but a closed beta test is set for the Japanese market for both iOS and Android July 29th to August 5th. There is no word on when or if this will come to other regions or when a full release will come. If you can read and have access to Japanese, you can read about how to sign up for the registration through here.
