Last November, reports claimed that Obsidian Entertainment had an unannounced project called Pentiment in development. Made by a small team of roughly a dozen people and led by Pillars of Eternity director Josh Sawyer, it is supposedly an investigating detective RPG set in 16th century Europe and focused heavily on dialogue choices. And there’s a good chance that it gets officially unveiled soon.

Recently, the aforementioned Sawyer seemed to indicate that the game he’s working on right now could be unveiled at the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase on June 12, and more of those hints have followed since then.

Hannah Kennedy is a concept artist at Obsidian who, according to her Twitter bio, is working on an unannounced project. Recently, she took to Twitter and remarked that it’ll be “extremely cool” once that unannounced project, which she’s been working on for the last two years, is finally unveiled. That message was followed by a good old googly eyes emoji, and we all know what that means. Interestingly enough, Sawyer responded to Kennedy’s tweet, with a plain and simple praying emoji.

Again, none of this is hard evidence by any means, but it is looking increasingly likely that Pentiment, or whatever the project’s final name ends up being, will be unveiled sooner rather than later.

Of course, Obsidian Entertainment has several other projects in the works as well. First person fantasy RPG Avowed is rumoured to launch sometime next year and could potentially be showcased at the upcoming Xbox event. Meanwhile, Grounded’s 1.0 launch is yet to receive a date. Finally, Obsidian is also working on The Outer Worlds 2though there’s no word on when we will see that next.
