Obsidian’s Investigative RPG Pentiment Could be Announced at Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase – Rumour

Obsidian Entertainment's Josh Sawyer seems to be hinting that his game will be revealed at the show, while leaks have previously claimed that he's leading an investigative RPG called Pentiment.

Obsidian Entertainment has to be among the busiest Xbox studios, if not the busiest, period. Early access survival title Grounded is constantly being worked on behind the scenes, with its 1.0 launch still waiting in the wings, while Avowed and The Outer Worlds 2 are also in development. But the studio might have other stuff in the pipeline as well.

In November last year, reports claimed that Obsidian Entertainment was also working on an unannounced investigative RPG called Pentiment, allegedly being worked on by a small team of a dozen people, led by director Josh Sawyer (known for having directed the likes of Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, and its sequel).

Now, it looks like Pentiment might be on the verge of being unveiled. Sawyer recently took to Twitter to retweet Microsoft’s tweet about the upcoming Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, which is set for June 12, and cheekily seemed to indicate that something of interest to him (and those that follow his work) might want to tune into the show.

Of course, nothing has been explicitly said, but there’s a good chance that Pentiment gets unveiled at the showcase in a little over a week from now.

Whether other Obsidian games will also be at the show remains to be seen.
