A new limited-time mode, Battle for Olympus, is live in Overwatch 2 and Blizzard Entertainment also released balance changes for Zarya, Moira, Brigitte and Junker Queen. It seems kind of light, and there’s the absence of any of the promised changes to Roadhog. Director Aaron Keller explained on Twitter that “some of its planned changes were pulled forward to the mid-December patch.”
As for Roadhog’s scheduled changes, these are planned for mid to late January. On the bright side, following buffs to Ramattra and Orisa, not to mention buffs to Ana and nerfs to Kiriko, Roadhog hasn’t been as nigh unstoppable as before. Nevertheless, he’s still pretty good, and it should be interesting to see how he’s balanced in the upcoming patch.
As for Battle for Olympus mode, it’s available until January 19th. You can check out the trailer here and the list of hero abilities here. The next event is Lunar New Year, which starts on January 17th. Season 3 should begin sometime in February, so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
Today's balance patch is a bit lighter than usual because some of its planned changes were pulled forward to the mid December patch. Also, a friendly reminder that the scheduled changes to Roadhog are not part of today’s patch and are slated for mid to late January.
