Overwatch Dev Looking Into Competitive Ranking Issues for Healers

No "immediate actions" for now though.

Healers always get the shaft, regardless of the team game, and it’s no different in Overwatch. Along with having to babysit the entire team and ensure their survival, healers also had to deal with Competitive Play season one not offering enough progress for leveling up one’s rank.

Thankfully, even if Blizzard doesn’t affect change for season two of Competitive Play (which begins on September 6th), it’s at least looking into the same. As per director Jeff Kaplan on the Battle.net forums, “We’re pulling the data right now to check on how each hero and each role is performing when it comes to placement matches. We’re actively doing some analysis on this right now.

“I know you’re looking for a list of immediate actions we’re going to take but I don’t have that for you right now. We’re in the analysis stage at this point. It’s harder for us to get good data on the PTR so we want to be careful before leaping to conclusions.”

What are your thoughts on improving rank advancement for healers in Competitive Play? Let us know in the comments.
