Overwatch Dev Teases Next Hero With Efi Oladele Interview

Spider tank hero incoming?

Posted By | On 22nd, Feb. 2017

Blizzard Entertainment remarked recently that the next hero coming to its hero shooter Overwatch was not who players were expecting. Thanks to a recent in-universe interview, we may have hints to who it actually is.

Over on the official website, Efi Oladele of Numbani – a key map in Overwatch where Doomfist’s gauntlet is housed – is interviewed. Oladele is an inventory skilled with AI and robotics who recently received a grant for her work.

She’s currently looking to “build something that can keep us safe, like the new OR15,” which many have taken as hints that the next hero is an Omnic (like Zenyatta) created by her.

Observant Redditors noted how Sombra’s origin trailer contained an image for a spider robot of some sort. Combined with rumours that this robot is actually a Tank called Anchora and we’re more pumped than ever for what Blizzard has in store.

Who do you think the next hero could be? Will Doomfist ever make an appearance? Let us know in the comments.
