Overwatch Echo

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced that Overwatch’s next hero would be Echo, an Omnic AI and the creation of one Dr. Mina Liao. She’s currently available to try on the Public Test Realm for PC but a new developer update is out to detail her abilities. Interestingly enough, Echo is a Damage-dealing hero.

Echo’s primary attack is called Tri-Shot which fires three shots that cover decent distance. Her alt-fire unleashes sticky bombs which explode after a short delay. She also uses a focused beam which deals increased damage to both enemy health and barriers that are below 50 percent health. Echo can also fly up – holding the Jump button will cause her to glide slowly downwards.

It’s her Ultimate, “Duplicate”, which is particularly nuts. Echo can target a member of the enemy team and transform into them for a short period of time. She gains all of their abilities and highly increased Ultimate recharge rate. This means that she can become Tracer and just let off multiple Pulse Bombs in a few seconds.

Echo will be available on the Public Test Realm for some time and the team is committed to balancing her abilities if they’re too overwhelming. Stay tuned for more details on any potential changes in the coming weeks.
