Fans of Overwatch’s Lunar New Year seasonal event have been wondering when it would return, and Blizzard has obliged with some new information. The event goes live on January 24th and will end on February 18th. This year is the “Year of the Pig”, one of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

To provide a hint of what’s to come, Blizzard tweeted a highlight intro video featuring Soldier 76. It sees the DPS hero figuring out how a Pellet drum works. Much like past events, new cosmetics will be revealed prior to the event going live. Expect a closer look at new Legendary skins, highlight intros, emotes, and more over the coming days.

Given how Capture the Flag has been the focus of past Lunar New Year events, it remains to be seen if Blizzard will release a new map this year. At the very least, you can expect items from previous Lunar New Year events to return at a discounted price. Those looking to unlock that Genji Baihu skin can now pay 1000 Credits instead of 3000 (or receive it as a random Loot Box drop). Stay tuned for more information on the event in the coming days.
