While PC hardware and peripheral maker Corsair has previously indicated that Grand Theft Auto 6 might come to PC in early 2026, the company has now revealed that this was speculation on its part. Speaking to IGN, the company has confirmed that it does not have details about the PC release of GTA 6, and has not gotten any details about it from either developer Rockstar Games or publisher Take-Two Interactive.

Speculation arose when Corsair Gaming’s finance VP Ronald van Veen spoke about revenue projections for the next year during its recent earnings report. During the report, van Veen speculated that, while GTA 6 will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in Fall 2025, the PC release might only be slightly later, in early 2026.

“Yeah, GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about,” said van Veen during the earnings call. “And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.”

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick himself has been quite cagey about the PC release of GTA 6. When asked about it by IGN previously, he responded that PC is an important platform for the publisher, pointing to the recent release of Civilization 7. He does mention that Rockstar Games has traditionally launched its titles on consoles before then releasing them on PC.

“So with Civ 7 it’s available on console and PC and Switch right away,” said Zelnick. “With regard to others in our lineup, we don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.”

Zelnick has also stated that he believes that GTA 6 will cause “a meaningful uptick” in console hardware sales when it finally comes out. This comes in the wake of declining console hardware sales. Zelnick, however, believes the launch of GTA 6 to be a big enough event that it will affect console sales.

“When you have a big title in the market and we have many of them coming, historically that has sold consoles,” Zelnick said.

“And I think that will happen this year. I don’t think tariffs are going to be our friend, but I think there will be a meaningful uptick in console sales in calendar 25 because of the release schedule, not just coming from us, but coming from others. So I’m not concerned about that [console sales falling]. I think the trend that you’d want to focus on is this increasing share of the market that is reflected in PC.”

While the looming release of Grand Theft Auto 6 might also have caused some concern for fans of GTA Online, Zelnick has stated that, as long as there is a playerbase for it, the company will continue to support even its older titles. He used NBA 2K Online and its sequel – China-exclusive multiplayer titles – as examples of Take-Two Interactive supporting its older titles.
